Declan turned 8 today. And for the first time ever (except the actual birthing day) I am not there to celebrate. I hurt with missing my family. My mom would remind me how lucky I am to have such a wonderful family to miss. But right now it just hurts.

I'm hurting right there with ya...still. A couple of days ago, that sweet little boy said to me "I didn't get very many birthday presents."
It was actually very sweet, because it wasn't a complaint or a whine. It was just a simple statement.
I assured him it wasn't over. That I really am going to have a party for him. I just have to figure how/when that will be.
Thanks for crying with me on his birthday. I think it was a hard day for all of us. We missed you lots!
Let me know when you'll be in town, so I can finally have a party for the cutie!
